MLB Friday Trends
The All-Star game is behind us, and Major League Baseball returns tomorrow night with 28 of 30 teams back on the field.
Michael Wacha Under 5.5 Hits Allowed
Wacha has been under this line in 66% of his starts, and in two previous starts against the White Sox this year Wacha allowed 2 and 4 hits, respectively.
Wacha's season data | Wacha’s head-to-head data |
The White Sox are the worst offensive team in baseball, literally. They have the worst wRC+ and worst on-base percentage in the league.
The White Sox wRC+ and OBP rankings
And the White Sox batters have some terrible head-to-head data with Wacha. 4 players in the White Sox lineup have 10 or more plate appearances against Wacha, and three of the four are hitting under .190 against him.

Juan Soto Over 1.5 Hits+Runs+RBIs

Soto’s season so far | Soto’s last 10 games before the break |
Soto has gone over this line in 61% of his games this season and 6 of his last 10 games. Soto also has a great history against Zach Eflin, who starts this game for Tampa Bay. He has 9 singles, 3 doubles, 2 home runs, and 10 RBIs in 37 plate appearances versus the righty.

Bo Bichette Over 1.5 Hits+Runs+RBIs
Every year after the all-star break, some players who were hot in the first half go ice cold. And the opposite happens, too. Players with awful first half find a way to flick a switch and look completely different in the second half. We’re hoping Bo Bichette is one of those players.
Bichette was almost 50/50 with this line in the first half
His head-to-head data against the Tigers is really good, going over this line in 11 of his last 17 games against Detroit.
Bichette loves playing the Tiges
And he gets Tigers starter Jack Flaherty. It’s a small sample size but in 6 plate appearances against Flaherty, Bichette has a .400 average.

Matt Olson Over 1.5 Hits+Runs+RBIs
Similar to Bichette, we’re banking on a better second half for Olson.
Olson’s first-half numbers for this line
Olson did not have a very good first half by his standards, but he gets a good matchup to start the second half; he has fantastic numbers against St. Louis Cardinals starter Sonny Gray.
Olson has a .375 average in 8 plate appearances against Gray
And Olson has dominated the Cardinals in recent years, going over this line in 12 of his last 16 games against Paul Goldschmidt and co.

We’re 49 days away from the NFL season. So close.
Tyreek Hill Over 1375.5 Receiving Yards
A line this low for Tyreek Hill feels…wrong?
Yes, he’s one year older. But he’s still the number one receiver on a Miami Dolphins team that builds its playbook around creativity, the deep ball, and a high-powered offense. Even if Jaylen Waddle takes more targets away from Hill this season, Tyreek has still surpassed this line by 334.5 and 423.5 yards respectively in his two seasons in Miami. So, there’s some wiggle room even a down year. Plus, in the years in Kansas City, where he competed for targets with Travis Kelce, Hill just barely missed out on this line.
