Tonight, five NBA teams—Lakers, Warriors, Kings, Bulls, and Magic—are coming off two days of rest. In our research for this newsletter, we focused on these teams to identify players who perform well after extended rest. We found three players: Austin Reaves, Coby White, and Franz Wagner. Not only do they have strong data with extra rest, but they also have favorable matchups tonight.

Austin Reaves, 2.5 3PTM

Reaves strong three-point-made data with two days’ rest. He’s gone over his 2.5 3PTM line in 78% of his games this season on two days rest (7/9), averaging 2.9 threes and 7.1 attempts.

Reaves on Two Days Rest this Season

He also gets a solid threes matchup against Milwaukee, who allow 3.32 threes per game to shooting guards, 18th in the NBA. He hasn’t faced the Bucks this season, but last season in Milwaukee he racked up 4 threes. And without LeBron this season, Reaves has gone over this line 75% of the time (3/4), averaging 3 threes per game.

Reaves without LeBron

Austin Reaves Bonus: Rebounds and Assists (10.5)

Reave rebounds and assists numbers on two days rest aren’t great; he’s only gone over this 10.5 line 44% of the time (4/9) but without LeBron on two days rest, he racked up 22 rebounds and assists in his only game. Luka is also questionable and a game-time decision, so keep an eye out for the final injury list before tip-off. The rebound+assist matchup is also good for Reaves, with the Bucks allowing the 4th most rebounds and assists per game to shooting guards (11.96 per game).

White has strong two-day rest data in two categories: 3PTM and points+assists.

Coby White, 3.5 3PTM

White has gone over this 3.5 line in 63% of his games with two days rest (5/8), averaging 4.4 threes in those games.

Coby White with Two Days Rest

Four of those games were at home too, and White has gone over in 3 of the 4 at home, averaging 5.3 threes. In the other home game, he went 0/8 from three, an uncharacteristically bad game for White. He also gets a great matchup with Brooklyn, who allow 3.61 threes per game to shooting guards, the 5th most in the NBA.

3-Point Data for Shooting Guards Against Brooklyn

Coby White, 27.5 Points+Assists

White best data on two days rest is the 3PTM data above, but his points and assist data felt strong enough to highlight, too. He’s gone over this number 50% of the time on two days rest, averaging 25.3 P&A. But at home on two days rest, is much better, averaging 27.0 P&A, with a 75% hit rate.

Coby White’s Points and Assists Data with Two Days Rest at Home

White is also averaging 32.2 points and assists over his last 5 games overall, going over in 3 of the 5.

Franz Wagner, 24.5 Points

Wagner only has one data set on two days rest that jumped out to us, averaging 27 points per game with two days rest, going over this 24.5 line in 67% of his games under those parameters.

Franz Wagner’s Points Data on Two Days Rest

And Wagner’s matchup is the best in the NBA; the Pels allow 25.04 points per game to small forwards, the most in the NBA.
