NBA Trends
Cleveland Cavaliers at Boston Celtics, Game 1
The Cavaliers needed 7 games to beat the Magic, and the Celtics have been off since Thursday after making quick work of the Miami Heat.
Donovan Mitchell Over 37.5 Points+Rebounds+Assists
Mitchell struggled early in the series against the Magic, going under this line in the first 5 games, before blowing past this line in games 6 & 7.
We’re banking on Mitchell carrying his late series momentum over to round two, and his data against Boston is solid, too. Mitchell has gone over this line in 5 of his last 6 games against the Celtics, and 4 in a row on the road.
Derrick White Over 15.5 Points
Derrick White was awesome in the first round, especially in games 4 and 5, so we’re highlighting the hot hand once again. White went over this line in 4 of the 5 first-round games, and 56% of his games at home this season against Eastern Conference teams.
Dallas Mavericks at Oklahoma City Thunder, Game 1
OKC took the season series 3-1 over the Mavs, and games between these two teams saw a ton of scoring this season; three of the four games had 245 points or more.
Josh Giddey Over 15.5 Points+Assists
Two things are true about Josh Giddey in this spot:
It’s a good matchup
And there’s good recent data
Giddey went over this line in both games at home this season against the Mavs, and he’s been over this line in 7 of his last 10 home games.
Kyrie Irving Over 9.5 Rebounds+Assists
Just like Josh Giddey, the same two things are true about this Kyrie Irving trend:
Historically, it’s been a good matchup
His recent data is positive
Kyrie has been over this line in all three games against OKC this season and 7 of his last 10 games overall.
MLB Home Run Trend of the Day
Is he due? There’s an MLB superstar out there who hasn’t hit a home run in 21 games after hitting 6 in his first 16 games. Is today the day he snaps the streak?
Mookie Betts Over 0.5 Home Runs
Betts has not hit a home run since April 12th, and today he gets a matchup with a pitcher he’s seen 4 times in his career, going 1 for 4..and the only hit was a home run.
The weather at Dodger Stadium is playing in Betts favor today, too.
Plus, the Marlins bullpen has given up the 4th most home runs in the majors this season, coming into tonight’s game with 17 home runs allowed and a 4.75 ERA.
Stanley Cup Playoffs Trends
The Colorado Avalanche and Dallas Stars is a series from heaven. It’s going to be great, just as great as the New York Rangers and Carolina Hurricanes series is shaping up to be after game one.
Carolina Hurricanes at New York Rangers Game 1
Mike Zibanejad was the story of game one, scoring twice and adding an assist. We’re shifting our focus to another Ranger who’s been hot the entire playoffs.
Vincent Trochek Over 0.5 Assists
Can Vincent Trochek keep it going? He has points in every Rangers playoff game so far, and an assist in 4 of the 5 Rangers playoff games.
Colorado Avalanche at Dallas Stars Game 1
Nathan MacKinnon has 12 points in his last 10 games against the Stars, but we’re not focusing on his points trend. His shots on goal data against Dallas are outrageous.
Nathan MacKinnon Over 4.5 Shots on Goal
MacKinnon has cooked this line against the Stars, going over in 8 of his last 10 against them. And in the games he went over, MacKinnon cleared this line by multiple shots in 7 of 8 games.
