Eight Games, Eight Props, Eight Categories
Over our last two newsletters, we highlighted 20 NBA betting trends. We researched 15 of them ourselves and sourced the remaining 5 from our partners via social media. One player didn’t end up playing, leaving us with 19 props to tally up — 12 wins and 7 losses, good for a 63% hit rate.
Today, we have a trend for each of the following eight prop categories:
Points
Rebounds
Assists
Points + Rebounds + Assists (PRA)
Points + Rebounds (PR)
Points + Assists (PA)
Rebounds + Assists (RA)
3PTM
Let’s build on that today. Here we go.
NBA Trends, One For Each Game
MIA @ CHA - Kon Knueppel, 3.5 3PTM
We’re riding with the H2H data for Knueppel. This is the fourth game of his rookie season that he’s facing the Heat, and the other three games speak for themselves.

Knueppel against the Heat this season
In those three games against the Heat, he has 10 or more attempts from three each time, even though this season he’s only averaged 8.0 3PTA. In games with 10 or more attempts, he’s averaging 4.9 made threes with a 75% hit rate.
Miami does rank top 5 in 3-point defense against opposing shooting guards, but that hasn’t thrown Kon off this season. Against teams that rank in the top five 3-point defenses, he’s averaged 3.9 3PTM with a 78% hit rate.
DET @ WSH - Jalen Duren, 11.5 Rebounds
Duren’s matchup? Wonderful. A big injury that could influence Duren’s performance for the better? Even better.
The Washington Wizards rank dead last in rebounds allowed to opposing centers, with 60% of opposing centers clearing their rebounding line against Washington in their last 10. Against bottom-10 ranked rebounding teams, Duren is averaging 10.0 rebounds per game with a 44% hit rate. Those numbers are not overly appealing, I have to admit. But then you add in the fact that Isaiah Stewart is out tonight, in combination with the matchup:

Duren without Stewart this season
In games without his co-center, he cooks. And see that head-to-head game against Washington on November 10th? That was his only game this season against a bottom 5 rebounding team without Stewart, and he had 14 boards.
OKC @ ORL - Jared McCain, 8.5 Points + Rebounds
Kind of a weird line, considering McCain is averaging 13.7 points and rebounds in 16 games with OKC since being traded, and over his last 10 games, that has held steady at 13.3 points and rebounds with an 80% hit rate.

McCain’s L10 games
He’s also averaging 18.5 minutes per game over his last 10, and this season, when he’s playing 18 or more minutes, he’s averaging 16.1 points and rebounds with a 91% hit rate.
IND @ NYK - Jalen Brunson, 37.5 PRA
In his last 5 games against the Pacers in the regular season, in Indiana, Brunson has averaged 36.6 PRA.
But in his last 4 games against the Pacers in the regular season, in New York, it’s a different story.

Brunson’s last 4 games in the regular season against the Pacers at home
A totally different story against Indiana when the game is at home, where he’s averaging 45.3 PRA with a 75% hit rate.
Also, Brunson scores 28.1% of his points in PR Ball Handler play types, and the Pacers also rank 28th in defending that play type. When Brunson faces the bottom 5 PR Hall Handler defenses, he’s averaging 39.5 PRA with a 75% hit rate.

PHX @ MIN - Devin Booker, 4.5 Assists
Yes, we’re looking at assists here, but stay with us:
Booker scores 23.0% of his points in the Pick-N-Roll Ball Handler play types.
The Minnesota Timberwolves rank dead last in defending that play type.
And when he plays teams that rank bottom 5 in defending that play type, not only does he score, but he moves the ball exceptionally well.

Booker against teams that rank bottom 5 in defending PR Ball Handlers
Booker is averaging 7.0 assists against those teams, with an 86% hit rate. And his head-to-head data is crazy, too:

Booke’s assists against the Timberwolves
CLE @ MIL - Dennis Schroder, 5.5 Rebounds + Assists
Just look at this chart.

Is this a guarantee? No, nothing is. But the Milwaukee Bucks rank 28th in rebounds and assists allowed to opposing point guards, and when he faces bottom 5 ranked P&R defenses, that 100% hit rate with an 8.3 average is too compelling not to point out.
And yes, he was traded mid-season, so for what it’s worth, Schroder is averaging 6.8 rebounds and assists per game with a 61% hit rate in 17 games with Cleveland.
SAS @ SAC - Russell Westbrook, 21.5 Points + Assists
Westbrook’s Kings have had a disastrous season, but recently, he’s taken on a bigger role with the team, and his leadership has shown in his final stat lines. But the change that we’ve seen is a consistent minutes jump. Over his last 5 games, he’s played 31 or more minutes in 4 of the 5, even though he’s only averaged 29.1 minutes per game this season.
When he plays 30 or more minutes this season, he’s averaging 26.8 points and assists with an 84% hit rate. If we kick that up to 31 or more minutes, the average jumps to 27.6 points and assists with an even better 89% hit rate.

Westbrook, when playing 31 or more minutes this season
Minutes are the key, minutes are the key.
PHI @ DEN - Christian Braun, 10.5 Points
Three facts about Braun, this prop, and his matchup tonight:
The 76ers rank 27th in defense (points against) vs opposing shooting guards.
Braun is averaging 14 points per game against opposing bottom 5 defenses when hitting at least 1 field goal.
This game is in Denver, and on the road this season, he’s averaging 9.1 points per game with a 39% hit rate. But at home, that averages jumps to 13.2 points, and the hit rate jumps to 71%.

Braun at thome this season
Across all games this season, he’s averaging 31.9 minutes, but he has drastic splits when he's on the right or wrong side of 31 minutes.
31 or fewer minutes: 8.0 PPG, 29% hit rate
32 or more minutes: 11.8 PPG, 69% hit rate
