Hot Hitters

When finding the three trends for hot hitters below, we considered two things: post-all-star break stats and the historical data for the batter versus the opposing team’s starting pitcher. We think we found some gems.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Over 1.5 Total Bases

Vladdy is scorching hot coming out of the all-star break, hitting this line in all 5 games with 21 total bases in just 5 games. He had 7 bases in the game before the break, too.

And then there’s his matchup with Rays righty Taj Bradley. They’ve gone to battle against each other 8 times at the plate, and Vladdy has gotten the better of Bradley.

Randy Arozarena Over 1.5 Total Bases

We’re staying in the Jays/Rays game for our second trend, with Randy Arozarena. Arozarena has gone over this line in 3 of his 5 games since the all-star break, with 18 total bases over that span.

And he has chewed apart Jays starter Chris Bassitt, with a .429 batting average in 14 plate appearances, and 4 extra-base hits.

We like Arozarena to stay home against the Jays right-hander.
