Hot Hitters

When finding the three trends for hot hitters below, we considered two things: post-all-star break stats and the historical data for the batter versus the opposing teamā€™s starting pitcher. We think we found some gems.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Over 1.5 Total Bases

Vladdy is scorching hot coming out of the all-star break, hitting this line in all 5 games with 21 total bases in just 5 games. He had 7 bases in the game before the break, too.

And then thereā€™s his matchup with Rays righty Taj Bradley. Theyā€™ve gone to battle against each other 8 times at the plate, and Vladdy has gotten the better of Bradley.

Vladdy has 1 single, 1 double, and 1 home run against Bradley, and 2 RBIs

Randy Arozarena Over 1.5 Total Bases

Weā€™re staying in the Jays/Rays game for our second trend, with Randy Arozarena. Arozarena has gone over this line in 3 of his 5 games since the all-star break, with 18 total bases over that span.

And he has chewed apart Jays starter Chris Bassitt, with a .429 batting average in 14 plate appearances, and 4 extra-base hits.

Arozarena has a .857 slugging percentage lifetime versus Bassitt

We like Arozarena to stay home against the Jays right-hander.

Francisco Lindor Over 1.5 Total Bases

Lindor has gone over this line in 3 of his 5 games since the all-star break, but he has at least a base hit in all 5 and a great matchup historically today.

Lindor faces Chris Sale. Yes, Sale is having a renaissance season, and looks like the Chris Sale of old, but the data between these two is positive for Lindor regardless of how Sale has looked in 2024.

Lindor has 13 hits in 31 plate appearances versus Sale, including 3 extra-base hits.
