NBA Cup: 3 Thoughts From Props.Cash

Three notes to consider for tonight's big game, plus partner trends and the NHL?!

NBA Cup Final!

The Oklahoma City Thunder or Milwaukee Bucks will be crowned the 2024 NBA Cup Champion, and we’re here to drop some knowledge from Props.Cash to help you make a more educated decision tonight if you’re betting on the game.

Below are three thoughts for the game tonight, followed by some partner trends for the showdown between Oklahoma City and Milwaukee, and then, for the first time this season, a few thoughts for the NHL slate tonight.

These two teams haven’t played each other since April 14th, when OKC beat Milwaukee 125-107, their first win against the Bucks since February 2021. But Giannis didn’t play in that game.

This season, the Bucks are allowing the most points in the league to point guards.

Milwaukee allows 28.43 points per game to point guards

Recent point guards have had real success against the Bucks, with Trae Young, Jalen Suggens, and Dennis Schroder all dropping 30+ over the last 10 days.

PG’s vs the Milwaukee

Obviously, the point guard to watch is Shai-Gilgeous Alexander, but what sort of performances has he put together lately?

SGA’s last 10 games

Shai is averaging 30.3 points per game, 30.6 on the road (tonight’s game is a natural game in Vegas), and has averaged 23.6 over his last 6 against the Bucks.

SGA head-to-head vs Milwaukee

As you can see, his points line tonight is 32.5, a line he’s only eclipsed in 28% of his games this season, but he is averaging 32.2 in the NBA Cup this season.

OKC Don’t Rebound

The Thunder are the worst team in the NBA at rebounding, literally.

The Thunder rank 30th in rebounding

And on the other side of the court, Giannis Antentekoumpo (11.5 per game), Bobby Portis (7.7 per game), Brook Lopez (4.9), and Damian Lillard (4.5 rebounds) lead the charge in rebounds per game for Milwaukee. The natural next question is - which positions grab have the highest rebounds per game against OKC? The answer: Point Guards.

Point guards rack up 8.26 rebounds per game vs OKC

Damian Lillard is the player to target here, and he’s averaged 4.5 rebounds per game this season, and 4.8 rebounds on the road. And his rebound prop line tonight? 4.5 rebounds per game. He also had 6 against OKC last year, in March.

Middleton returned to the Bucks on December 8th, missing the first two months due to injury. Since then:

  • 21.3 minutes per game

  • 21.8% field goal percentage

  • 21.5% from three

  • 7 points per game

  • 3 points per game

  • 5.8 assists per game

And he has a great history against OKC, averaging 31.5 points, rebounds, and assists in his last 4 games vs the Thunder.

Middleton’s head-to-head vs OKC

Can he continue that against this OKC team that doesn’t defend small forwards all that well?

The Thunder are 23rd in points and 27th in rebounds against small forwards
