NFL One Week Away!

NFL approaching, baseball breakdown, partner players and the BvP sheet!

7 Days Until Football Returns

The countdown is at the 7-yard line - one week from tonight, the Cowboys and Eagles will kick off the NFL season in Philadelphia. It should be interesting to see if Micah Parsons is on the field for Dallas. Without him, the Cowboys currently sit as 7-point underdogs, but that line should move if the Cowboys can work it out with their star defensive player.

In other NFL news, before the season kicks off, here’s a roundup of everything that’s happened this week with roster cut downs, which could affect week one and future player props:

  • Terry McLaurin & Trey Hendrickson ended their contract holdouts with the Commanders and Bengals, respectively.

  • Adam Thielen was traded back to Minnesota from Carolina, and Amari Cooper signed with the Las Vegas Raiders.

  • Rookie running back Quinshon Judkins hasn’t signed yet, and reportedly won’t sign until the NFL has closed its investigation into his offseason issues, and a suspension could be coming.

  • Chiefs WR Rashee Rice has been suspended for the first six games of the season.

  • Jaguars rookie Travis Hunter is healthy and ready to go for week one.

We can’t wait! But for today, let’s hop into some more Major League Baseball analysis and partner players for the NFL Futures, the WNBA, and Baseball.

The two pitchers for the Braves and Phillies game tonight have been in tough, lately. Braves starter Cal Quantril has given up 13 hits and 10 earned runs in his last two starts, and Phillies starter Aaron Nola has given up 17 earned runs and 24 hits in his last three starts.

We’ll focus on Quantrill first - and for him, the focus has to be on righties. They’re hitting .335 against him this season, and there’s a righty on the Phillies with 11 plate appearances against Quantrill, and an outstanding batting average.

Trea Turner vs Quantrill

In his 11 plate appearances versus Quantrill, Turner has a .455 average with a single, two doubles, and two home runs. Turner is seeing the ball well right now, too. He has a hit in 15 of his last 16 games, with 26 total hits in that stretch, and 2 or more HRR in 10 of those 16 games.

In those 16 games, Turner has a .336 average with a .996 OPS.

Aaron Nola

On the other side of the ball is the former Phillies ace Aaron Nola - he has a long way to go to get back to his old form, considering he has never had a season with an ERA higher than 4.78 before this season, and right now his ERA is 6.25. When you look into Nola, the focus can be on lefties or righties. Nola is struggling against both sides of the plate (.323 vs righties, .312 vs lefties).

Ozzie Albies vs Aaron Nola

Ronald Acuna Jr actually has the best numbers head-to-head versus Nola, but we’ve already featured him in the Batter vs Pitcher Matchup sheet down below, so we’ll take the opportunity to also highlight Albies, who has the second-best numbers versus Nola.

Albies' head-to-head data versus Nola

He also enters this matchup with back-to-back rockstar games. He has 18 HRR in his last two games, smashing 5 hits, 3 of which were home runs.

Either way, this game should see some significant runs today.
