How do the worst defenses matchup in Week 9
Bad Defenses = Opportunity in the Anytime Touchdown Market?
With 30 minutes until the 1 PM window in week 9 kicks off, we wanted to hop in your inbox with some last-minute touchdown data to help you in week 9.
The Carolina Panthers, Dallas Cowboys & Miami Dolphins
Carolina, Dallas, and Miami all have one horrible thing in common: they’re brutal at defending the rush.
The Panthers
The Panthers allow 1.75 rush TDs per game, which is the worst in the NFL. They also allow 154.6 rushing yards per game, and teams are averaging 34.25 rush attempts against them, both are the worst in the NFL.
Panthers defensive stats
The Panthers play Alvin Kamara in week 9, who shot out of a cannon to start the season, but has slowed in recent weeks.
Kamara’s rushing yards per game this season
And Kamara is looking to break his short streak of two straight weeks without a touchdown against this dismal defense. Kamara has 7 touchdowns this year, but 4 of those came in week 2.
The Cowboys
Dallas is right behind Carolina, 31st in both rushing yards allowed and rushing TDs allowed per game. Teams are averaging 32.14 rushing attempts per game against them, which is the 3rd most in the NFL.
Dallas can’t defend the rush with all their injuries
Enter Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson. Robinson will get the opportunity to torch this defense amid a 4 game touchdown streak, where he’s racked up 90 or more yards twice, and hasn’t had less than 60 yards in this 4 game stretch.

The Dolphins
Miami has an elite passing defense: 4th least yards allowed per game, 2nd least passing touchdowns allowed per game and maybe it’s because teams can score on the ground. They don’t give up boatloads of yards (16th in the league) but they’ve still been torched for the 3rd most rushing TDs allowed per game this season.
Miami can defend the pass, but not the rush
And James Cook, who has 8 touchdowns in 6 games with 2 multi-touchdown games, will get a great chance to add to his totals today. Cook had three touchdowns earlier this season against Miami and has touchdowns in 4 of his last 6 games against the Dolphins.
Cook has excellent history against Miami
Good luck with your week 9 bets!
