Cleveland at Boston: Donovan Mitchell

The Cavs are off to a scorching 15-0 start, can they make it 16? If Donovan Mitchell continues his hot head-to-head play against the Boston Celtics, it seems likely.

Mitchell is averaging 34.2 points per game against the Celtics over their last 11 meetings, going over his 27.5-point line in 10 of 11 games. The Celtics are ranked 20th in the NFL defending shooting guards, allowing an average of 23.25 points per game.

Charlotte at Brooklyn: Looking for Wins, LaMelo

2 losses in the NBA Cup is sort of a death sentence, and both Charlotte and Brooklyn lost their opening game. Charlotte is on the road, which should play well for them considering LaMelo Ball’s splits.

On the road, Ball is averaging 31.8 points per game, and at home, he’s averaging nearly 4 points less, 27.9 points per game. If LaMelo can stay hot on the road against Brooklyn, who allowed 24.33 to point guards (22nd in the NBA), then Charlotte has a decent chance at avoiding the 0-2 hole and keeping their NBA Cup aspirations alive.

Denver at Memphis: On The Road, Looking For A Win

Denver has never won a road game in the NBA Cup, and Jamal Murray’s lack of production, especially on the road, has played a role.

Murray is averaging 15.2 points per game on the road this season, compared to 20 points at home. And even though they need more from him, they may not get it tonight considering the Grizzlies rank 7th in point guard defense this season, allowing an average of 21.8 points per game this season.

New Orleans at Dallas: Ingram Is A 👻 On The

Ingram’s home and away splits are unbelievable. He’s averaging 23.6 points per game overall, with a 9-point swing between his home and away performances.

27.9 points at home, and 18 points on the road. Crazy splits. If the Pelicans want to win in Dallas tonight, they’ll need more on the road from Ingram, especially with Zion Williamson sidelined with a hamstring injury. The matchup isn’t easy for Ingram either; Dallas ranks 8th in defending small forwards, allowing just 19.3 points per game.

OKC at San Antonio: 2 Wins Looks Good

Group West B doesn’t have a 2-0 team, and if you’re the first to get there, a 2-0 record gives you a great chance at advancing to the second round. Whichever team wins tonight will be 2-0, and even though OKC has more talent, the player we wanted to bring to your attention is Zach Collins. Wemby is likely out, and without the big man in the lineup over the last two seasons, Collins has thrived.

Utah at the LA Lakers

The Lakers have not lost an NBA Cup game, ever. They won every group game last year on their way to the inaugural NBA Cup win, and if Utah wants to be the team to hand them their first loss, they’ll need John Collins to keep up his solid play.

Over his last 5 games, Collins is averaging 20.2 points compared to his season average of 17.5, and he’s averaging 9 rebounds over his season average of 7.8. The Lakers aren’t very good at defending power forwards either, ranking 25th in that regard this year (25.21 points per game).
