A Pivotal Night in the NBA, Stanley Cup Playoffs and the WNBA Kicks Off
4 Series, 4 Massive Games Plus the WNBA Gets Going
Below is one trend for each NBA team tonight, one trend for each WNBA game, and one trend for each NHL team. There are 13 trends in total, our biggest newsletter to date. We wanted to kick things off with our MLB trend of the day because the first pitch is at 1:10 Eastern.
MLB Trend of the Day
Bryson Stott Over 1.5 Total Bases
Two reasons we like this trend today:
Stott is on fire, he has 16 bases over his last 5 games
And Stott has mashed against Mets starter Jose Butto, with 4 hits in 7 plate appearances.

NBA Trends
New York Knicks vs Indiana Pacers Game 5
There are some obvious trends in the New York and Indiana series; the home team has won all 4 games in the Knicks and Pacers series, and both games at the Garden went over while both games in Indiana went under. Tonight, they’re back at the Garden for a pivotal game 5.
TJ McConnell Over 18.5 Points+Rebounds+Assists
McConnell has gone over this line in 4 of his last 5 games, and 3 of the 4 games so far this series.
He’s supplied solid minutes off the bench, and with the overplaying well in the Garden this series, those solid minutes should continue.
Donte DiVincenzo Over 3.5 3PTM
DiVincenzo has been a bucket at home, going over this line in 7 of his last 10 home games, including both games in this series at home.
Plus he’s coming off a brutal showing in game 4, where he went 1 for 6 from three. In games this season where he attempted 7 or more threes, he’s gone over this line 66% of the time.
We’re looking for a bounce back at home for DiVincenzo
Denver Nuggets vs Minnesota Timberwolves Game 5
The road team is 4-0 in this series so we will focus our first trends on a road team bounce-back performance.
Karl Anthony Towns Over 19.5 Points
Karl Anthony Towns was, well terrible, in both games at home. He scored just 27 points over two games on 33% shooting. In his career, KAT is a 52% shooter, so those two games should be the outlier.
He has to bounce back in a big spot, right?
Michael Porter Jr. Over 15.5 Points
Porter Jr. had a weird game 4, playing 35 minutes but only attempting 4 shots. And with the series shifting back to Denver, Porter should see roughly the same amount of minutes. When he’s played 35 or more this season at home, Porter Jr. has been over this line 74% of the time.
We’re leaning on the bounce-backs tonight, but the data suggests these guys are likely to return to their normal patterns.
Stanley Cup Playoff Trends
Florida Panthers vs Boston Bruins Game 5
The Bruins are down 3-1 to Florida, can they reverse uno the Panthers from last season or is this it for Boston?
Matthew Tkachuk Over 3.5 Shots on Goal
Matthew Tkachuk has been all over it in this series. Tkachuk has gone over this line in 3 of 4 games so far, with 17 total shots in the three games he’s gone over.
Aleksander Barkov Over 0.5 Points
Barkov has been incredible in this series, with points in every game. He has 8 in just 4 games.
Following the hot hand, here.
Vancouver Canucks vs Edmonton Oilers Game 4
This series has been epic, and tonight another wrench gets thrown into the spools. Stuart Skinner will sit, and Calvin Pickard will make his first Stanley Cup Playoff start. Game 4 should be a dandy.
Brock Boeser Over 0.5 Points
Boeser was awesome in game 3, and we like him to keep his hot streak going in game 4.
He has points in every game of this series, let’s hope he makes it 4 in a row tonight.
Zach Hyman Over 3.5 Shots on Goal
Hyman has three jobs on the Oilers: get to the front of the net, fire rebounds on goal and get as many of them across the line as he can.
Hyman has been over this line in every game this series, with 16 shots through 3 games and 23 shot attempts.
WNBA Trends
The WNBA season kicks off tonight! Here’s one trend for each game:
Washington Mystics vs New York Liberty: Jonquel Jones (NYL) over 12.5 points, she was over this line 60% of her road games the last two seasons.
Connecticut Suns vs Indiana Fever: Aliyah Boston (IND) under 9.5 rebounds. The reigning rookie of the year averaged 8.5 rebounds per game in her rookie season, and she’s up against the top rebounder in the league tonight.
Jonquel Jones Over 12.5 Points | Aliyah Boston Under 9.5 Rebounds |
Las Vegas Aces vs Phoenix Mercury: Diana Taurasi (PHX) under 14.5 points. We’re fading one of the goats here, Taurasi has gone 4 straight games against the Aces.
Seattle Storm vs Minnesota Lynx: Kayla McBride (MIN) has a solid history against the storm, so we’re again highlighting this trend for the head-to-head matchup.
Diana Taurasi Under 14.5 Points | Kayla McBride Over 14.5 Points |
