Plus: 3 batter vs pitcher matchups for a possible home run in MLB

PRA: The Best Matchup for Each Category
There are five matchups in the NBA tonight, three of which have a spread of 9 or more, so the National Blowout Association could strike again tonight. Taking that into consideration, we dove into the data to bring you the best points matchup, the best rebound matchup, and the best assist matchup that we could find in the association tonight.
Below the NBA section of the newsletter, you’ll find three quick hits for the MLB. We’ve highlighted three batters with solid history against the opposing starter they’re playing tonight, specifically home run history.
Jarrett Allen, 9.5 Points
This line feels…wrong? I’d expect it to move. Allen is averaging 13.8 points this season, and 15.8 points in his last 5 games.

Allen’s last 5 games
With the playoffs approaching, and the Cavs locked in as the number one seed, Allen may see fewer minutes tonight, but Cleveland is already without several key players. Donovan Mitchell and Darius Garland are maintaining injuries, and Evan Mobley is resting. Without Mitchell in the lineup this season, Allen is averaging 15.3 points, and without Mobley, he averages 18.9.

Allen without Mobley
It’s a solid matchup for Allen - the Pacers allow 22.3 points per game to centers, and Allen has games of 11 and 16 points against them this season.

Maxwell Lewis, 2.5 Rebounds
Maxwell Lews has played 15 minutes or more in 11 of his last 12 games, and 19 minutes or more in 7 of those 11 games. With that, he’s seen his rebound average double. This season he has averaged 2 rebounds per game, and in his last 10 games he’s averaged 4.4 boards.

Lewis’s last 5 games
He faces the Atlanta Hawks tonight, and it’s a great matchup. They allow 8.2 rebounds per game to small forwards, the second most in the NBA.

And he should continue to see those same minutes tonight, the Nets’ injury list is vast; De’Anthony Melton, Cam Thomas, Day’Ron Sharpe, Cameron Johnson, and D’Angelo Russell are all out tonight.
Ja Morant, 6.5 Assists
At home, Ja moves the rock. He’s averaging 8 assists per game on home court this season, and has cleared this assist line in 20 of 27 home games thus far. Worth noting: he’s never gone under this line in three straight at home, and he’ll have to go over to keep that streak alive.

He’s also gone over this line in 3 of his last 4 games against Minnesota, a Timberwolves team that ranks 13th in assists per game allowed to point guards, averaging 8.6 allowed per game to the position.
MLB Quick Hits
Mike Trout vs Zach Littell
Mike Trout only has 6 plate appearances against Zach Littell, and in those 6 appearances, he’s smacked one home run and registered a .600 barrel percentage.

Rafael Devers vs Chris Bassitt
Devers has 14 plate appearances against Bassit and has sent the ball over the wall three times against the righty. Devers also has a .500 barrel percentage against Bassit, and has 7 hits in those 14 appearances.

Bobby Witt Jr vs Bailey Ober
Bobby Witt only has 1 home run in 19 plate appearances against Ober, and a .176 barrel percentage, but it’s Ober’s numbers that caught our eye. He’s already given up three home runs in just 36 plate appearances so far this season in just two starts, after allowing 27 all of last year.
