Pregame Reading: What Can We Expect From Thursday Night Football?
Points, points, points! Probably...
October 6th, 2024
In week 5, the Baltimore Ravens and Cincinnati Bengals combined for 79 points. Could we see a similar result tonight? In recent weeks, both teams have scored and been scored on often.
The Bengals are averaging 26.3 points per game and have allowed 25 points per game over their last three games. They are averaging a whopping 35 points per game in their last three and are allowing 23.33 points per game.
Considering what happened in week 5, and how both teams have played recently on both sides of the ball, anything less than 50 points would be surprising. Here are three trends for Thursday Night Football found on Props.Cash that you could consider for tonight:
Zay Flowers At Home? Sure!
Flowers home and away splits are pretty incredible. He’s averaging 58.8 yards and 4.8 receptions on the road, but at home, Flowers averages 5.5 receptions and 90 (!) yards per game. His receiving yards line is 61.5, a line he’s been over in 2 of his last 3 against the Bengals and 3 of 4 home games this season.

And in recent weeks, the Bengals have given up big yardage to receivers who lines up on the outside and inside. Jaokbi Meyers had 105 yards against them last week, and DeVonta Smith & AJ Brown combined for 169 yards two weeks ago.

Mike Gesiki Without Tee Higgins?!
In 5 games with Tee Higgins this year, Mike Gesiki is averaging 14.2 yards per game on 1.6 receptions. Without Higgins, it’s a different story. First, his receptions:

And now, his yards:

He’s averaging a whopping 70.5 yards per game without Higgins, and 5.5 receptions per game. If you take away the first game of the season, which was Gesiki’s first game as a Bengal, his average jumps to 88 yards per game on 6.3 receptions per game. No Higgins, Go Gesiki.

Run Henry, Run!
Henry’s longest rush line at most sportsbooks is 20.5 or 21.5. Naturally, you’re probably wondering how he’s done against that line this season. Here’s your answer:
Henry’s longest rushes this season
Henry has had a rush of 22 or longer in 7 of 9 games, and narrowly missed last week with a rush of two. That includes rushing the ball for 51 yards against the Bengals in week 5. In recent weeks, the Bengals have managed to stop long runs, with the last player to go for 22 or longer being Henry. But Barkley did fire off a 19 yard run in week 8.
