Lately, They’ve Been Cookin’
All of the trends listed below have a 100% hit rate in their last five games, or an 80% hit rate over their last 10. Not only that, but they also have good matchups tonight and are in good spots to keep it going!
Kelly Oubre Jr. Over 15.5 Points
Without Joel Embiid, players on the 76ers have had to step up. It took Oubre Jr some time to find his stride with more minutes, but now that he has we like his spot here against the New York Knicks.
He’s hit this in five straight games including against the Knicks on Sunday. Small forwards with points lines around Oubre’s have seen success against New York lately.
Malik Monk Over 3.5 Rebounds
Malik Monk has been solid on the glass. He’s grabbed at least 4 rebounds in not just his last 5 games, but he’s gone over this line in 6 straight.
We realize his numbers on the season aren’t great, hitting this at just a 37% clip. But it’s his numbers lately that we’re highlighting, remember that. And then there’s also his head-to-head numbers against the Bucks, making this trend more attractive.
Andrew Nembhard Over 0.5 3PTM
This is undoubtedly the most attractive of the three trends we’ve highlighted so far. Nembhard has been so consistent lately from beyond the arc. He’s had at least one three in 8 of his last 10 and 11 of his last 15.
The other two trends we highlighted - Monk and Oube Jr - have been hot lately but don’t have great hit rates on the season as a whole. But Nembhard breaks from that mold. He’s had at least one three in almost 60% of his games this season.
King of the Triple Doubles
Triple-doubles are being converted in the NBA by a three-headed European monster: Domantas Sabonis, Luka Doncic, and Nikola Jokic. Tonight, only one of them is in action. For another triple-double, points and rebounds shouldn’t be hard to come by for Sabonis, hitting at least 10 points in 97% of his games this season and 10 rebounds 90% of the time season.
Assists are where Sabonis is most likely to fail on his quest for another triple-double, managing 10 or more assists in only 40% of his games this year.
His assists history against the Milwaukee Bucks is encouraging, though. He’s blown past 10 assists in two of his last three games against Milwaukee.
Can Sabonis make it three straight triple-doubles against the Bucks tonight?
On The Ice Tonight
Below are four trends from the NHL tonight, with an emphasis on finding a good matchup for the player first and then good recent data to back it up.
Cole Sillinger 1.5 SOG Good Matchup: Montreal allows the 3rd most shots on goal. | Colin Blackwell 1.5 SOG Good Matchup: Anaheim allows the 4th most shots on goal. Good Data: Blackwell has been on a tear lately, hitting this line in 9 of his last 10 games and in 71% of his games this season. |
Nathan MacKinnon 0.5 Goals Good Matchup: Nathan MacKinnon has goals in 6 of his last 7 games against Calgary. Good Data: Other than how he’s faired against Calgary, MacKinnon has been red hot lately in his own right. He has goals in 7 of his last 10 and 4 of his last 5. | Mikko Rantanen 0.5 Assists Good Matchup: Rantanen has an assist in 6 of his last 8 games against Calgary. Good Data: If MacKinnon scores, Mikko Rantanen may have a hand in it. He has assists in 9 straight games, with 12 assists over that span. |
