Props.cash newsletter: Football hitting its stride

This week, we look back into our favorite NFL feature and find value in NCAAF props.

Positions vs. a defense continues to be a must-visit feature for NFL prep

Two things to call out immediately: one, we know we already highlighted this, and two, what we’re about to shine a light on isn’t for tonight’s game.

To address the latter, don’t worry, we’re going to dig into this Thursday Night Football game below. As for the former, what can we say besides we love this feature on props.cash?

The more games we see in the NFL, the more we recommend building this feature into your research routine. Take ‘Receiving Yards vs TEN’ as an example.

Seeing more checkmarks than not is always a good sign, but the important prompt to guide your prop prep is simple: what type of players are hitting their overs against this defense.

The Tennessee Titans defense is a perfect example of a clear archetype finding success against them. In Week 1, Chris Olave had a big game, going for 112, and both of the other two New Orleans’ receivers also hit.

In Week 2, Keenan Allen led the way with 111 yards, and fellow WR Mike Williams also had a solid day. Week 3 saw Amari Cooper pile up 116 yards, with both of the other two Cleveland wide receivers also going over their set line.

You likely see where we’re going with this. Yes, it’s clear WRs against the Titans are a good bet, but in particular, the overlap is that each team’s top wide receiver is having a massive game when they see Tennessee. Not everyone might be familiar with names and roles in the same way, so a tip if that describes you: look at who had the highest set line of the day. More often than not, that’s going to be the team’s top pass-catcher.

Olave went over his line by 42 yards, Allen went over by 35, and Cooper breezed past by 60.

Who gets to face Tennessee this week? Oh, no one special, just one of the best wide receivers in football fresh off a 141-yard game.

Hit-rate isn’t everything. This is a smash spot for receivers, especially the stars. However, as our exercise showed us, there has been plenty to go around for every WR who has the pleasure of facing the Titans.

Keep Tyler Boyd on your radar, as he’s gone over in two straight games thanks to 17 total targets.

There’s value in NCAAF touchdown props if you get specific

For those that prefer a full 48 hours of football action, don’t forget that NCAAF is live on both the desktop and mobile.

A quick poke through the dashboards shows us that clearly touchdown props are hitting at the most frequent rate, though the prices aren’t quite where you’d want a bet like this to be.

There’s a solid batch of names here have hit in every game so far, but for the most part we’re seeing prices at -190 or worse, which hardly feels worth it for a fickle market like touchdowns.

However, some sportsbooks offer how that touchdown is scored, i.e. whether it will be a receiving or a rushing touchdown.

Take USC’s Brenden Rice. Rice has scored in all four games this year, twice hauling in two touchdowns. Thanks to this dominance, his price is set at -190 on books like BetMGM and DraftKings.

Notice anything different here? A quick swap over to ‘REC TD’ shows us that all of Rice’s scoring production has come through the air, and despite that, we can get his touchdown at +108 on Caesars. It’s a simple exercise, but we’d certainly take +108 over -190 any day.

There’s value to be had, and all you need to do is hop into props.cash and find it. Good luck on the search!

TNF Trends for Tonight

Luke Musgrave Receptions

Green Bay rookie tight end Luke Musgrave just had his best game yet on a receptions front, hauling in six catches off eight targets. A quick scroll down to TEs vs. Detroit shows us that every tight end to see the Lions has hit their receptions prop this season. Is tonight going to be more of the same?

Amon-Ra St. Brown Receiving Yards

Amon-Ra St. Brown has finished with 102 yards in back-to-back games and has seen 28 targets through three weeks. St. Brown finished with 55 and 63 yards in two meetings with the Packers last season, but four WRs have already hit their receiving yards overs against the Packers this year. Is St. Brown set for another big day?

MLB Trends for Today

Chris Sale Hits Allowed

Boston’s Chris Sale has seen Baltimore three times this year, each time allowing 6+ hits. The Orioles come into this one fighting to secure the top spot in the AL East, and over the last 30 days, their wRC+ against LHP is seventh-best in the league. Is Sale in for another rough outing?

Corey Seager Hits, Runs & RBIs

Corey Seager has loved seeing Seattle lately, piling up 3+ Hits, Runs & RBIs in seven of their last nine meetings, and he’s averaged 5.0 HRRBIs over the past five. Tonight Seager will see Logan Gilbert, and in 14 PA vs. Gilbert, Seager is hitting .385 with two singles, two doubles and a triple.
