Trends Powered By Edge (Sort Of)
NBA bettors, we have you covered. NHL bettors, we have you covered. Below, you’re going to find the top three NBA trends, by Edge, from the Props.Cash app. The NHL trends are led by the hottest player in the league, a trend picked from Edge rankings, and a player with outstanding road data.
Before we get into them, our weekly NFL Edge Report went 2-2 this week, to improve to 6-2 this season. You can find this week’s video later this week, on our YouTube channel below.
Now, lets get into it.
NBA Trends
Isaiah Collier, 13.5 Pts + Reb + Ast
Edge: 18.6
Collier gets the best Edge across the 6 games in the NBA, with an Edge difference of 5.1 PRA.

He’s only played two games this season, averaging 14 PRA, clearing this line in 1 of the 2 games. But his matchup against the Pacers is a decent one - they rank 25th in defense overall, 11th in PRA defense against point guards, and 50% of point guards have cleared their line vs Indiana in their last 10 games.

The Pacers defensive stats
Collier averaged 25.9 minutes per game last season, and through his first two games, he’s only averaged 21.1 minutes, so hopefully we see an uptick in minutes tonight.
Quentin Grimes, 21.5 Pts + Reb + Ast
Edge: 25.8
Grimes gets the second-best Edge across the 6 games in the NBA, with an Edge difference of 4.3 PRA.

He’s averaging 25.7 PRA this season, clearing this line in 60% of his starts. At home, his average drops to 22.6 PRA, but his hit rate holds steady at 60%. His matchup is interesting - the Celtics rank 17th in PRA defense against shooting guards, with 53% of shooting guards clearing their line against Boston in their last 10 games, by an average of 0.63 PRA.

The Celtics defensive stats
The 76ers are favoured by -1.5, and in wins this season, Grimes is averaging 27.3 PRA with a 67% hit rate.

Isaiah Hartenstein, 21.5 Pts + Reb
Edge: 26.9
Hartenstein gets another great Edge in the NBA tonight, with an Edge difference of 5.4 PRA.

Hartenstein is averaging 25.2 PRA this season, clearing this line in 55% of his starts. At home, that average dips to 21.3 PRA with a 50% hit rate. Chet Holmgren is playing, which would usually make us wary of this trend, but Hartenstein is averaging 26.4 PRA with Chet, thanks to 52 & 31 PRA in his last 2 starts with his fellow big man.

Hartenstein’s games without Chet this season
The matchup is very good - the Warriors rank 26th in PRA defense versus centers, with 64% of centers clearing their line against Golden State in their last 10 games, by an average of 1.57 PRA.
NHL Trends
Leo Carlsson, 0.5 Points
Edge: 0.6
Admittedly, the Edge isn’t great. And he plays against Colorado, who rank 1st in points allowed to centers, not great either.

But even with all of that, we have to bring this to the newsletter. Carlsson has gone from a highly touted prospect to a guy struggling to find his footing in his first two seasons to a literal superstar early in the 2025 campaign. He has a point in 10 straight games, with 19 points total, and he has 2 or more points in 4 straight.

No one is more confident than Leo Carlsson right now.
Nick Suzuki, 1.5 Shots on Goal
Edge: 2.6
The Canadiens captain gets a good Edge against Los Angeles tonight, with an Edge difference of 1.1 shots on goal.

He’s cleared this line in 67% of his games this season, averaging 2.2 shots on goal. He’s also averaging 2 shots on goal at home, clearing this line 57% of the time, and in he’s cleared in back-to-back home games. 51% of forwards have cleared their line against the Kings in their last 10 games, by an average of 0.16 shots on goal. Suzuki gets a really good edge in the slot against this Kings team, too.

Will Smith, 1.5 Shots on Goal
Edge: 1.6
Admittedly, the Edge isn’t great on this one either. But his data on the road is why we’re bringing this here.

Overall, this season, Smith has cleared this line in 75% of his games, with a 2.1 shots on goal average. On the road, it’s even better, with a 2.2 shots on goal average and a whopping 83% hit rate.

The Wild rank 24th in shots on goal allowed to opposing forwards this season, too.
