In a ten-game NBA slate, one trend stands above the rest. Brice Sensabaugh, 17.5 points & assists, is the top Edge trend on the Props.Cash app tonight. Before we get into that…

The Utah Jazz and Memphis Grizzlies completed an absolute bombshell blockbuster this afternoon.

And the LA Clippers, since December 25th, have the best winning percentage in the NBA at 15-5. After a dismal start, the team has turned it around. So, naturally, James Harden wants out - because of course he does.

With another trade trickling in as we were typing this, Thursday is shaping up to be one of the more interesting NBA trade deadlines in recent history.

Now, back to Sensabaugh. We’re going to deep dive on this one trend in today’s newsletter, as a highlight of why Edge likes what it likes. Let’s get into it.

Brice Sensabaugh, 17.5 P&A

Sensabaugh is only averaging 13.4 points and assists this season, with a 68% hit rate. But there are two things to encourage this trend - his recent play and that trade with Memphis. Those Memphis players aren’t going to be available to Utah tonight, so minutes will be available for Sensabaugh. Two games ago, Walter Clayton Jr, Taylor Hendricks, and Kyle Anderson combined for 48 minutes off the bench, with Sensabaugh playing 26.

In a season where he’s averaging 21.2 minutes, he’s played 25 or more minutes 14 times. And in those 14 games, he’s averaging 21.2 points and assists, with a 60% hit rate against this line.

And the data that makes this even more attractive, 10 of those 14 games came in the month of January, so there is evidence that Utah is giving him more minutes, even before the trade. And that minute increase recently has led to some good results. When playing 25 or more minutes since January 1st, he’s averaging 23.7 points and assists with a 70% hit rate.

And yes, the matchup is not a good one. The Pacers rank 9th in points and assists defense against opposing small forwards, but when he gets those 25+ minutes, Sensabaugh has risen to the occasion against a tough opponent. He has 5 such games this season under those parameters, averaging 24 points and assists per game, with an 80% hit rate.
