Two Days Until The NFL!

Two More Sleeps Until the NFL Roars Back

On Thursday night, we finally get the NFL back. The Eagles and Cowboys kick off the 2025 season in Philadelphia. The Super Bowl Champs Eagles are healthy and ready to go, and the Cowboys start the new season with plenty of question marks, especially since they traded defensive star Micah Parsons to Green Bay.

The Chiefs and Chargers continue week one on Friday night in Brazil. Sunday features 13 games, capped off by the Ravens and Bills on Sunday Night Football, and the Vikings and Bears close out week one on Monday Night Football.

This is our newsletter plan for tackling week one, and all the following weeks of the NFL season:

  • Tuesday newsletters: focusing on a mix of sports - MLB & NFL for now, with the NHL and NBA coming into the mix in October.

  • Thursday newsletter: focusing on Thursday Night Football, Friday Night Football in week one, and will mix in other sports.

  • Sunday morning newsletter: strictly focusing on Sunday football and Monday night football.

For today’s newsletter, we have a mix of Props.Cash partner plays, the BvP Matchup Sheet, and an analysis of two pitcher strikeout props in today’s slate.

Pitcher Strikeout Analysis

Bryan Woo’s strikeout line is 5.5 tonight, and that’s a line he has absolutely cooked in 8 straight games, averaging 7.12 strikeouts per game in those 8 games, registering 7 or more K’s in 4 of his last 5 starts.

Woo’s strikeouts in his last 10 games

The Tampa Bay Rays are the team tasked with facing Woo, and they have the 10th-highest strikeout rate in Major League Baseball over their last 30 days. Head-to-head, there are 7 players on the Rays with 3 or more plate appearances versus Woo, and 5 of those players have strikeout rates of 33 percent or higher versus Woo.

Pitcher Two: Garrett Crochet, 7.5 Strikeouts

Crochet’s strikeout prop is 7.5, a line he has eclipsed in 59% of his starts this season, averaging 7.9 strikeouts. More recently, he’s gone over this number in 3 of his last 5 starts (averaging 7.8 K’s) and 6 of his last 10 starts (averaging 7.9 K’s).

More importantly, his head-to-head data is incredibly encouraging. Back in May, he racked up 11 K’s versus Cleveland, and there are 6 hitters in the Guardians lineup with a strikeout rate above 25% versus left-handed pitchers this season.
