Two Hitters And A Pitcher
Hottest hitters in the American League & National League, plus strikeouts!

Carroll, Pasquantino, and Brown
Arizona’s Corbin Carroll and Kansas City’s Vinnie Pasquantino have one thing in common: they’re both scorching hot. Pasquantino was just named the AL Player of the Week, and Carroll likely would’ve been the NL Player of the Week if not for Ranger Suarez’s body of work.
Neither hitter made it into the Batter vs Pitcher sheet today (which you can find here), because we chose to make them the highlight of today’s newsletter and dive deeper into their recent play and their matchup tonight.
On top of those two hitters, we’re also going to preview Hunter Brown’s matchup. Brown has seen his strikeout rates dip over his last 5 starts, but his matchup tonight is an intriguing one.
Before we get into the analysis, THEY’RE HERE! NFL lines are active on the Props.Cash app and desktop. Don’t fret: we’re also working on some new features and innovations that we can’t wait to bring to you soon.
Hunter Brown, 6.5 Strikeouts
We’ll sandwich the two hitters down below, and kick things off with Brown. Although he’s failed to throw 7 or more strikeouts in 5 straight starts, Brown gets a matchup worth looking at. This season, no team in baseball has a higher strikeout rate against right-handed pitchers than the Colorado Rockies do.

Rockies strikeout ranking, showing 23rd in their last 15 days, but the most K’s this season overall
As you can see, the Rockies’ strikeout rate has declined significantly over their last 15 and 30 days, landing them in the bottom third of the league in strikeouts versus right-handed pitchers (23rd). But the head-to-head history is enough that we’re still encouraged: earlier this season, Brown had 8 K’s versus Colorado, and he had 7 against them in 2024.

Brown’s head-to-head data versus Colorado
Four hitters in this Rockies projected lineup have K rates above 25% against righties, and 3 players have strikeout rates above 30% against Brown. To go even deeper into some Brown analysis, check out Jared Block’s analysis from Trinity Analytics - he’s one of the best:

Corbin Carroll, 13 In a Row?
Corbin Carroll has a hit in 12 straight games! He’s hitting .336 with three multi-hit games in those 12. When it comes to HRR, Carroll has also been a machine. He has 4 RBIs, 10 runs, and 15 hits, for 29 HRR total, averaging 2.41 HRR per game.

Carroll’s last 20 games, HRR
Admittedly, Carroll is in tough tonight. He’s facing young Brewers star Jacob Misiorowski, who has held opposing lefties to a .191 average.

Misiorowski’s data versus lefties, with the .191 average in the 5th column
And Misiorowski has averaged just 2.6 hits per start this season and 2.0 earned runs. They’ve never faced before, but Carroll is hitting 8 points better versus righties than he is versus lefties.
Pasquantino, AL Player of the Week
Vinnie has knocked a hit in 7 of his last 8 games, mixing in 11 hits in those 8 games with 4 multi-hit games and a .333 average, plus a 1.328 OPS.

Pasquantino’s last 10 games, hits
In those 8 games, he has 30 HRR, averaging 3.75 HRR per game. Pasquantino has 4 or more HRR in 5 of those 8 games and 5 or more HRR in 4 of those 8 games.

Pasquantino’s last 10 games, HRR
He is in tough against White Sox starter Martin Perez, who has held opposing lefties to a .136 average in 23 plate appearances. They have battled three times before, with Pasquantino rocking a .333 average with a single. Silver lining: In his last three starts, Perez has thrown 74 or fewer pitches, so if he gets to the white sox bullpen fast enough, he could get some better looks (they rank 14th in ERA).
